The thermostat

A thermostat is a device in the engine cooling system designed to regulate the temperature of the coolant. Its main task is to maintain the optimum temperature of the engine, ensuring its efficient operation.

The principle of operation of the thermostat is that it opens or closes depending on the temperature of the coolant. When the engine is cold, the thermostat is closed, preventing liquid from entering the radiator. When the engine warms up to a certain temperature, the thermostat opens, allowing coolant to circulate through the radiator for cooling.
