Description
The gas stop for an all—terrain vehicle is an important detail that ensures safe and comfortable use of the vehicle. The stop is a gas spring that helps open and close the hood, as well as holds it in the open position. This prevents bumps and deformations when closing the hood, and also protects the hood itself and adjacent parts from deformations.

There are two types of gas springs: dynamic and hydraulic. Dynamic springs operate on the basis of a constant drop in gas pressure, which ensures smooth opening and closing of the hood at a decreasing speed. Hydraulic springs use oil to dampen impacts when the extreme positions of the hood are reached.

Structurally, gas springs are the same and consist of a cylinder with a piston on the rod. They are attached to the hood and body using ball joints. One or two shock absorbers are usually used, depending on the weight of the hood and the manufacturer's requirements.

For proper functioning of gas stops, the rules of operation and maintenance must be observed. It is not recommended to bring the hood to the top point by hand, or to raise and close it sharply in winter because of the risk of damage to the shock absorber.
